Wirral Learning Community
Wirral Learning Community is a WLP delivery project that aims to help people link up to learning in their communities.
The purpose of Wirral Learning Community is to:
- Undertake community research amongst community groups to identify needs and barriers to engagement in learning.
- Support and encourage community consultation and local networking.
- Promote and develop innovative provision of basic skills in outreach locations.
- Promote and develop interesting 'first rung' learning in community settings.
- Raise the aspirations of individuals, families and communities.
- Increase levels of educational attainment especially in areas that are socially disadvantaged.
Wirral Learning Community Group is responsible for this project. The chair of the group has a seat on the WLP Executive. It is chaired by Jane Leffmann, WCVS.
